Bathurst 2009 – V8 Utes Crash Sequence
by admin on Oct.11, 2009, under Uncategorized
I spent a day giving a recent new lens a good test run for the V8 Supercars at the Supercheap Auto 1000 at Bathurst, NSW. One of the support races at the event is the V8 Ute race.
This here is Allan Letcher, V8 Ute pilot, rolling his Holden SS ute through the Chase down Conrod Straight, and yes, he walked away after rolling it 4 or 5 times.
Luckily I had just changed camera settings from slow shutter speed panning work to set up for freezing the action and this was the result. Had I still been using a slow shutter speed I doubt I would have captured the shot with sharp detail, and certainly not the full rollover sequence.
This was shot 11 of a pretty spectacular 19 shot sequence. Seems he has no real use for his sponsors – WA Lifting Equipment and carhoists.com.au – it seems he can do that all on his own.
