New Years Eve 2007-2008 Fireworks

This year, rather than simply watching them on tv I thought I’d take my daughter out to see the New Years Eve fireworks. Not wanting to battle the crowds though we headed to a highpoint in the bushland above Manly Dam on Sydney’s Northern Beaches to view the “family friendly” 9pm fireworks across Sydney.
From there we could see six fireworks points from Manly, all the way up the harbour through the city and then up to Chatswood. It was a panoramic view so wide it couldn’t be caught on camera but spectacular to see, especially the four points along the harbour in the city that were erupting in unison. Here’s a couple of the individual bursts – the first a panoramic shot towards the city, and the second from Manly Wharf (click the images to view larger).
Happy New Year!!
